It is with great
pleasure that we present the third volume of our Journal. For copyright
reasons we have a new name and appearance but our goals remain unchanged.
I am honored
to be the Editor-in-Chief this year. It gave me the opportunity
to learn and understand the many facets of the editorial process.
I now realize the effort and attention to detail that is required
in such a creative endeavor. I would like to thank Dr. Herndon and
the Executive Committee for their support. This journal would not
have materialized without the contributions of my co-editors: Greg,
Don, Conrad, Brandon, and David. A special thanks to Diane, who
worked hard behind the scenes. She was always there to make sure
I knew when the deadlines were past due!!
We dedicate
this journal to Dr.William Harris. He has been a pioneer in the
field of Orthopaedics for over 50 years. Dr.Harris holds a special
place in the hearts of all the residents because of his outstanding
clinical teaching and his unwavering commitment to research. He is
an inspiration and role model for us all.
This June marks
the culmination of my residency in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedics
Program. I would not be here but for the help, encouragement, guidance
and mentorship of Dr.Sushil Gupta, Dr.Jamie Watkins, Dr.Peter Mowschenson,
and Dr.Stephen Lipson among numerous others. I have spent five wonderful
years here and have enjoyed working with all the residents and talented
faculty. I wish the best to all of you and hope that the marvelous
tradition of this journal continues onward.
