Despite intermittent downpours halfway into this years tournament, eight determined teams finished all 18 holes and the 8th
annual Harvard Orthopaedics Golf Outing was once again a huge success. It was held in Wayland, Massachusetts at the Sandy Burr
Country Club, a historic Donald Ross design that was frequented by the great early American golfers Francis Ouimet, Walter Hagen
and Gene Sarazen. Close to 100 golfers arrived at the course with an umbrella in one hand, a golf bag in the other, and aspirations
of a championship in their hearts. Each player received an authentic Harvard Orthopaedics embroidered windshirt, which came in
quite handy after the first passing shower.
This years event was certainly competitive. Out of the 8 groups that finished all 18 holes, half of them came in at 5 under par
or better. The winning foursome with a low score of 8 under par was Dr. J.P. Warner, his son Ben Warner, 2nd year Resident Rob
Fullick, and his dad Kyle Fullick, who flew in from Texas to play in the outing with his son.
The outing continued the spirit of friendly competition and camaraderie among the residents, staff, and alumni. We all look
forward to bluer skies and a similar smashing turnout for next years event.
The funding of this wonderful event was made entirely possible by the generous support of the Harvard Orthopaedic faculty
and alumni. Included are the names of the attendings who helped support a resident or fellow.
