Alumni Update
Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Alumni Association

On behalf of Dr. James H. Herndon, Dr. Thomas Thornhill and the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program Alumni Association, we wish to extend best wishes to all the alumni of the residency program. We thank you for your continued support of the Alumni Association and The Orthopaedic Journal at Harvard Medical School.

The alumni party at the 71st annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in New Orleans was an enjoyable event for everyone in attendance. We look forward to seeing all of you at the meeting in San Francisco next year.

Now in its sixth year of publication, The Journal continues to enjoy tremendous success, thanks in part to continued support from the alumni. This year 76 alumni members contributed to the alumni fund, and another 55 contributed separately to The Journal. The editorial staff at The Journal appreciates your generosity. Your contributions are invaluable to us in our effort to publish a first rate resident-run publication. For those of you who were unable to contribute to the journal this year, we thank you in advance for your consideration next year.

As in previous years, we sent out a questionnaire asking you to update us on your whereabouts and significant events in your life. Over a hundred responses were received this year. Some of you wrote about new additions to your family; others about new practices that you have recently joined; still others about how they are enjoying retired life. We continue to encourage you to update us every year.

Some of you have expressed interest in using the Alumni Update section of The Journal to communicate your plans for professional growth and potential employment opportunities to other members of our orthopaedic community. To accommodate your wishes, an asterisk has been placed next to the alumni notes which describe potential job opportunities. Further information will be available through The Journal.

Our address for future contributions is:
